On the Artist impression of the Disneyland Paris Resort, the map shows a perfectly circular road. The Road itself travels around the outside of the 2 parks and the hotels.

The strange thing about this though is how accurate the artist impression is.  Not only that though, the road that was built around the resort is perfectly circular. The road is called La Méridienne, which means the Meridian. A meridian is an imaginary line that circulates the earth in a north south direction. I think it is a nice touch that this line that circulate the resort isn’t so imaginary!!

O estranho é o quão precisa é a imagem. A estrada feita à volta do Resort é perfeitamente circular e chama-se La Méridienne, que significa “O Meridiano”. Um meridiano é uma linha imaginária que dá a volta ao mundo numa direcção norte-sul. Eu cá acho que a linha não é assim tão imaginária!!

Das merkwürdige daran ist, wie genau die Wiedergabe des Künstlers ist. Nicht nur dass die Straße um das Resort herum exakt kreisförmig gebaut worden ist. Die Straße heißt La Méridienne, was soviel bedeutet wie Meridian. Ein Meridian ist ein Längenkreis, eine künstliche Linie, die die Erde in Nord und Süd teilt. Es ist eine schöne Note, dass die Strecke, die das Resort umkreist, nicht so imaginär ist!
