Hidden to the side of Main Street U.S.A. is the Disneyland Park Casting Agency. As with all Windows and doors on Main Street the idea is to make you think you are in an actual living, breathing street. This is why I assumed that this was the actual Casting Agency for Disneyland Park.

The wording on the door reads

“Open Since ’92
Disneyland Park Casting Agency
“It takes people to make dreams a reality”
Walter Elias Disney
Founder & Directory Emeritus”

Now I understood what Founder and Director meant which I then realised that this is a nod to Walt Disney, but I had to look up what emeritus meant and the definition is actually quite touching.

emeritus [ɪˈmɛrɪtəs]

I later found out that there is a version of this door on every version of Main Street U.S.A. around the world.

Como todas as portas e janelas da Main Street, a ideia é transmitir a sensação de que vives naquela rua. É por isso que assumi que fosse realmente a Agência de Casting para o Disneyland Park.

Na porta pode ler-se, em ingês:

“São precisas pessoas para fazer sonhos realidade”
Walter Elias Disney
Fundador e Director Emérito”

Eu sei o que fundador e director significam, visto que estavam relacionados com Walt Disney, mas tive que procurar uma definição para emérito. A defenição até é interessante.

Emérito – adjectivo 1. Que merece mérito 2. Que tem prestado longos e bons serviços

Mais tarde descobri que esta porta está presente em todas as Main Street espalhas pelo mundo.
